What is SubAir?
The Royal Auckland and Grange course has the benefit of the SubAir system installed in each green. This provides aeration, moisture removal and root zone temperature control in order to create an optimal subsurface growing environment for deep-rooted, resilient, healthy green grass.
SubAir is a vacuum blower system that is connected to the greens subsurface drainage system. The system was invented and designed at Augusta National to assist with their struggling 12th green, primarily providing for gas-exchange and excess water removal. It is the benefit of gas exchange which provides an ideal ration of air and water that produces ideal conditions for plant health.
